HIS JOURNEY
Alan's Story
From a beautiful baby boy to a courageous six-year-old fighting epilepsy and low muscle tone every day — this is Alan's journey, told in his family's own words.
The Beginning
For the first three months of Alan's life, our world was full of joy, fulfilment and the feeling of being the happiest parents in the world. And then, 24 hours after a routine vaccination that every child receives between the 12th and 16th week of life, the first epileptic seizures began — and from that moment our life turned 360 degrees. No words can describe what a person feels in that moment.
Hospital Days
After a series of tests at our local hospital, they could not find an answer, and we were transferred to Great Ormond Street Hospital — one of the best hospitals in the UK and in the world. We spent three months there under the care of specialists, and to this day Alan remains under their care, which gives us access to the newest medications available on the global market.
Today
Alan continues therapy several times a week. Every step forward is a victory we celebrate together.
